The Queens Hotel, Toronto

Have just arrived from Ottowa, nearly 9 hours in a parlor car. Your missing letter has turned up after a trip to Francisco and back – the manager of the Fifth Avenue having sent it on there with a mail for a Mr Pettit for which he sends a full apology. P.F. have soon acted upon my advice – one of their travellers and a junior from the office will arrive in New York tomorrow and proceed to look about for a spot for a depot – they wish me to go to New York as soon as possible to see about premises – they are also sending over a stock of biscuits, so they mean business evidently – I am sending them 8 nice orders from Montreal and 1 from Ottowa – it is really encouraging the kindness I receive on all sides among the trade and from the brethren. Well the Lord be praised for all His goodness. I expect you will be surprised to get P.F.'s card giving my return address New York. They hope I may not find it necessary to curtail my proposed visit as far West as Chicago by spending a week in New York.

Please give my kind love to our dear boys and Emma and all their household treasures – don't forget Marjee – I tell people some times that I have got a granddaughter nearly as tall as I am and then they lift their hands in astonishment. Miss Brittan too please give my kind love to and now my beloved Angee the Lord continue His mercies to you and with much love believe me.

Being very affectionate Husband
